The Homologation Process for ANATEL Products is managed by the Resolution 242 that came into force in Jun/01/01 and can be downloaded in the restrict area of our site.
The homologation certificate issuance is a pre-requisite which is mandatory for the comercialization and utilization of products classified in the categories I, II and III, in the country, described in Resolution 242.
ANATEL´s Objectives
1.To ensure that the comercialized and utilized products in the country are in compliance with the edited Regulations or with the rules adopted by Anatel;
2.To ensure that the product supplyers will comply with the minimun quality requirements for their products;
3.To ensure that the telecommunication products commercialized in the country , in particular the ones offered by the market directly to the public, have a minimum quality standard and adequation to what they are made for;
4.To ensure the compliance to the safety requirements and no agression to the environment;
5.To facilitate Brazil insertion in international agreements of mutual recognition;
6.To promote the isonomy in the treatment given to the ones interested in the certification and homologation of telecommunication products;
7.To offer confidential treatment to technical information , that may require such treatment, within the ones available by the interested parties by this regulation enforcement;
Product Categories
Category I: Certificate annual renewal
Terminal equipments targeted to the public use in general to access the telecommunication service of colective interest.
Category II: The Certificate Renewal every two years
The equipments not included in the Category I definition, however the ones that use the radio electrical spectrum for the signal transmitions, including anthens and the ones characterized in the specific regulation, such as the restrict radiation radio communication equipment.
Category III: With no renewal requirements for the Certificate
Any one of the products or equipments not included in the definitions of Categories I and II, which regulamentation is necessary for the support network inter-operation warranty to the telecommunication services; to the confiability of the support network to the telecommunication services; or to the warranty of the electrical magnect compatibility and the electrical safety.

The stamp construction with the ANATEL brand mark may rigorously obbey the stablished proportions in Resolution 242. It is possible that different options utilization in accordance with the disposition that better adapts to the size and model of the homologated product.

Responsibility for the afixation of ANATEL Label
‣Manufacturer, if they keep a manufacturing unit for the product production inside the country;
‣Manufacturer legal representative , if it is the case of an imported product;
‣The user, in the case of the directly imported product for their own use and with the purpose of service supply, or in the case of products developed with no commercial intent.
OCDs e Laboratories
LC3 has signed partnership agreemens with OCDs and Accredited/Certified Laboratories to ensure that it gets the best prices and best schedule for tests execution.
OCD: Designated Certification Organization
Organizations that are considered capable to conduct a compliance assessment process, within telecom area, and it is also capable to expedite Technical Certificate.

Inmetro certified organizations, within telecommunication specific area, in accordance with the Compliance Evaluation Brazilian System own criteria – SBAC and in regards to the technical regulation adopted by Anatel, recognized as capable to perform the tests required in the compliance evaluation process and to issue reports, in accordance with the rules, procedures, norms for the current standards for certification.
